I wrote an original poem about the TTI and not one specific program but commonalities they share, I hope it makes you all feel seen 🩷🫂 its not very good but I wanted to share Comments or criticism?
Kids Souls Died Here- By : Cait W
They sold our souls to our captors
When gratefully they signed
Packed up our bags and
Ripped us from our lives
We ,the Forgotten
Sentenced here, oh we cried
for our pets
and our friends
and our things left behind
Nothing made sense
Our failures contrived
Everyday was the same
Like little Soldiers we'd rise
Group was a firing squad
You couldn't be revived
Staff had your secrets
Ready to be vilified
We did what we could
To keep spirits high
Yet our self esteem shriveled
Worthless in our own eyes
Still we hoped for the day
Someone noticed
Asked why
They had us held down
Just for looking outside
It didn't matter what we said
What we did or what we tried
Not matter the reason
Consequences multiplied
Be mean to your peers
It helps them, they lied
Buy your freedom
The cost,
Your hearts flayed and fried
Once home we were scared
Of every noise
In the night
Thoughts of being sent again
still burned
In our minds
Carefully we constructed
The walls to survive
While the silence
And trauma
Ate us alive
We should live
for those kids
the ones we used to be
Those that died
In the TTI
Where they abandoned
You and me
