Confidence to drop a wetsuit

Post Body

I did a sprint triathlon today and the water was 21.8°. After much deliberation with fellow athletes whilst racking, I decided to stick with a wetsuit for the buoyancy benefits.

(British triathlon forbids the use of wetsuits for water temps 22° and above)

I massively overheated during the swim and couldn’t get my breathing into any rhythm. Has anyone else found this? Should I have ditched the wetsuit and benefitted from the quicker transition?

TIA
