Sports nutrition and food preparation
Post Body

(If not in Cape Town, appreciate your nutrition tips)

Im an amateur athlete - I cycle, and to some extent I also run and swim. I've done numerous notable races multiple times including the Double Century, the Argus, the Swartberg100. ...the point is I know how to prepare for and complete these challenges.

Since the pandemic began I've been on sabbatical. And then there was a period of enjoying other things. So I will be getting back into things from a zero base of fitness and with the lingering covid-kilos. The goals for this new year is extensive with many races ive not done before in SA and elsewhere, and charity events coming up later in the year for which I need to have no issues in performance!

Never been good at Nutrition! My Achilles' Heel! Never felt like I was ever able to get enough food or the right food in my body. This has been a major disappointment for me on occasion - bonk! I also dislike cooking it takes up too much of my time and mental capacity to shop and prepare for good healthy meals.

My first response to this would be to outsource the problem... Ie get a nutritionist to look at what food I need to fuel my body, and then this/another person can prepare the food and drop off.

The questions:

- Who provides such service in Cape Town, if at all?

- How do you solve your nutrition needs training for ironmans and ultra endurance races?

- Other ideas?

NOT Fitchef or similar service.... not tasty, not enough food, not homely.
