Advice on travelling within NC without a car

Post Body

So my friends and I are planning to do a spontaneous trip to have a Thanksgiving getaway to a quiet place somewhere nearby. Unfortunately, none of us know how to drive so a lot of places are quite an inconvenience to get to. We tried booking something at Ashville unfortunately due to the last min nature of the trip a lot of the places have been booked and the rest are very expensive. Does anyone have any recommendations on more rural/naturey places we can visit that don't require a car.

Thanks!

Edit: so after discussing with friends we realised we could book a bus from Durham to Boone and then lyft to nearby places.
