It feels like my skin is taking FOREVER to adjust to tret. Help :(

Post Body

I’ve been using tret since September 2021. I had to take about a month off because I had an awful case of perioral dermatitis caused by wearing masks. I figured out how to clear my PD and get my skin healthy again, and resumed application. I started again just using once a week, and have gotten up to 3 times a week in the last 2 months. My problem is that it feels like my skin just isn’t adjusting to the tret. I know at this point the warning signs of when my moisture barrier is damaged, and it seems like by the 3rd application of the week my skin is always pretty dehydrated. I haven’t had any peeling, just some dry areas and minor irritation. Do I just push through and keep my application at 3 times a week?(sometimes less depending on how dry my skin gets) or do I need to slow down again? I am just worried that at this rate my skin will never adjust. Maybe I’m being impatient, I really don’t know! Haha. Thank you for any help!

Routine: AM: Wash with water, LRP Lipikar balm, spf

PM: wash with noble formula zinc soap, LRP Lipikar Balm, tret 3 times a week, and I seal it all with LRP Cicaplast balm.
