So I'm having an issue after 4.5 months of Tretinoin cream 0.05%.

I'm getting these usually small red spots, often with tiny whiteheads. They are appearing every single day, sometimes numerous in a day.

They are much less noticeable than the deep cysts I used to get, but definitely cropping up very regularly.

I've had a few recommendations from people. Some suggest I may be dehydrated due to tretinoin, and the resulting overproduction in oil is causing clogged pores. Other have said potentially I am OVERmoisturising with too much/too heavy cream.

What are thoughts on not moisturising at night after applying tret (since it's in a cream formulation anyway)?

Or possibly it's the cream base of the tretinoin causing this?

All of this said, I suppose maybe there's nothing wrong and it just needs more time. It just doesn't feel right, as this wasn't really the kind of spots I used to get. This seems like a new thing since I started tret.
