Edit after a year: Hey guys! So, i've been doing microneedling once every 3 weeks with on and off periods. In the meantime i joined Rob from Perfect hair Health. After all these years of searching, it's by far the most comprehensive website i've found on the net, by far i got the best and clearest understanding of what the fuck is happening in my scalp.

Disclaimer: no i'm not working for him and did not renew my 6 month subscription

Along with the microneedling, i used a growband for 15 minutes a day. The device, he told me, is a replica of a device used in a japanese study which used it for 2 hours a day and yielded good results. For 15 minutes a day i did not see that much increased results. I also discovered, after rolling them, that my occipitalis muscles are extremely tensed. They could be the main cause behind the chronic tension on my galea leading to fibrosis and calcification.

After rolling them, i realise WHEN they contract, and namely when i laugh, they contract super hard...anyway.

So, after all the rolling and microneedling. I do notice an increase in velus hair, more than before. i also notice dark hair coming back on spots where there wasn't after hair loss. Let me cut to the chase: IT'S SLOW.

It's a progress, but it's super slow. Mainly because i haven't been religious in my microneedling or massage, or used growband long enough. He also mentioned topical dutasteride, which seems to have no side effect because of molecular weight and therefore not entering the bloodstream. He's about to release a study on that which sounds interesting.

So what do i do now: i bought an electronic massage device on amazon, as manual massage is too painful for my arms and shoulders and not sustainable. A brush massage was also boring and not stimulating enough. I need to develop a routine where i roll my occipital muscles every day, and i used growband for 40 min i try everyday, when i'm on the computer. Also microneedling once every 3 weeks / every month. I do see a progress but it's slow. The goal is to fight the fibrosis on the surface and in the galea, as well as the calcification underneath. If it still doesnt work, i'll try adding topical dutasteride.

After discovering 2young2retire on Hairloss forum and his crazy experiment and results with microneedling only (after he did 1,5 month of irregular min use), i tried to go 2mm this morning.

I used to do 1,5mm, i had good redness, but after 2 months and a half, the results are here but very slow. He strongly advises that bleeding should occur as that will force the body to rejuvenate and bring more blood vessels to the scalp. So i took the plunge and tried 2mm

Indeed, first second, there was bleeding, unlike with 1,5 where i never got any. I also read here https://perfecthairhealth.com/microneedling-best-needle-length/ that to achieve rejuvenating factors you need to needle between 1,5 and 2,5 mm so as to reach the desired layer of your scalp.

What surprised me is i would hear cracking sounds, which i had never heard before. Like actual cracking. That made me wonder if it was cracking calcifications...

Needless to say it hurt like a motherfucker, i couldnt even do it on all of my scalp. I'm looking into numbing creams as that is what 2y2r did too, because on certain areas the pain is unbearable.

Washed the crime scene with soap afterwards. If i can get some numbing cream i'll definitely try that again, if not i'll go back to 1,5 until i can get numbing cream.
