I just switched from the Hims spray to the Happy Head dropper.

I am finding that the Happy Head liquid smells AWFUL. Just the worst chemical smell, I hate it, but what's even worse is, after the first night of using it, I woke up the next morning with all of my sheets stained. That brownish orange color stained everything.

My hair is just very lightly thinning, so there's not a ton of scalp I can rub it on without also getting it stuck to the surface of my existing hair. I had this bottle in my house for a long time before I started it and it is technically past the expiration date. But I also have a newer bottle which seems to be just as brown and just as stinky.

Is this normal? I searched around for reviews/anecdotes and was surprised not to find anything.

also side note - the moderation bot on this subreddit is incredibly frustrating.
