Is minoxidil 1ml a day enough?

I am having this confusion regarding minoxidil dosage per day. I have been prescribed Minoxidil 5% twice a day (1 ml 2 times). But i have heard people online claiming once a day is enough because of the half-life. I prefer using it 1 ml once a day since it would save me the trouble of buying a new one every month. But some people claim that u must get 2 ml per day (2 ml once or 1 1 ml twice) to get the results. Any suggestions on this ?
