Saw a post that linked this but the post was a year old:
That article says 0.02% topical per day is optimal (down in "Topical Finasteride and Serum DHT: What Do The Clinical Studies Say?"). I'm wondering if the science has changed in the last year...
Long-story short: stick to 1-2 mL of 0.005% to 0.02% topical finasteride solutions. This equates to roughly 0.1-0.2mg of daily finasteride exposure to the scalp. Any more than that, and thereโs risk of significant systemic leakage, which defeats the purpose of using topical finasteride altogether.
Also just to be sure a concentration of 0.02% means 0.02 mg per ml, yes? This math look right?
To calculate how many milligrams (mg) are in a 0.02% solution at 1 ml, you can use the following steps:
0.02% means 0.02 grams per 100 ml (since 1% is equivalent to 1 gram per 100 ml).
Now, convert grams to milligrams (1 gram = 1000 mg):
0.02 grams = 0.02 * 1000 mg = 20 mg
So, there are 20 mg in 1 ml of a 0.02% solution.
So that would mean if I'm making 60ml of solution I need 1200 mg? That seems high...
