I've been taking finasteride for the past 6 years but still losing the hairline slowly but surely. My hairstylist I've been going to forever casually, politely mentioned I was thinning at the front a little bit. This prompted me to try and bump it up to Dutasteride which I did 3-4 months ago. Ironically, during the same time I saw an uptick of posts talking about how Dutasteride destroyed their hairline prompting them to switch back to Finasteride.
Shouldn't this be a good sign? We expect shedding when using Finasteride or Minoxidil, why not Dutasteride? I see many posts of people getting on Dutasteride, shedding after a few months, freaking out, and then going back to Finasteride.
My question is: Has anyone out there used Finasteride for awhile, got on Dutasteride, had more shedding, stuck with it for a year or so and saw better gains?
