I’ve started having super delayed (12-16) reactions to edible THC. Anybody have any clue as to why?
Post Body

Hey. I’m a 29 year old guy, living in Boston.

I’ve used marijuana recreationally since I was about 15. I’m not a heavy user these days, but steady — maybe once or twice per month. I’ve had my fair share of experiences with edibles and made all of the usual mistakes like accidentally taking too much or not planning on it taking several hours to kick in.

However, lately, this bizarre thing is happening where I don’t start to feel the effects until minimum 12 hours out. Right now, I took an edible last night at 8PM thinking it would help me sleep, went to bed feeling only a very mild high (had a couple beers, too) and woke up at 10AM absolutely obliterated. I had to miss work and couldn’t get out of bed until after 2PM. I was even having mild hallucinations at one point this AM. I also know it didn’t kick in earlier because I got up to get water at around 6AM and felt normal.

First, the product is from a high quality dispensary. Second, it’s a tincture — so, while the dosing is a little more difficult to measure because it goes by drops, I’m confident I dosed somewhere between 2-4 mg. In other words, not a really high dose.

Does anyone have any clue what is going on? This has happened with multiple products from different dispensaries. I might just have to stop taking edibles — which is no big deal — but I’m so confused!
