Am I the only one that has problems after getting stoned?

For 4 years I smoked pretty much on a daily basis but within the past 6 months things have changed. I went to having a great time high to feeling like I was going to die. My heart rate sky rockets, it feels like it’s gonna beat straight out of my sternum.
Has anyone else ever experienced this? I have an appointment with my cardiologist on the 19th but I’m worried I may never be able to enjoy a good tree again.
