Looking for some advice.

I recently was given some magic mushrooms from a friend of mine. I just don't know how to tell how fresh, or strong they are. Or what to fully expect. So, what are some of your experiences, or advice on how to take them. If this isn't allowed, I'm sorry, I am not sure where else to ask this.
