Tbf, I've had bud that looked like some of these before that was so damn strong I couldn't use it. Leaves being left on isn't a bad thing.

Yes blah blah quality is expensive but not "this is basically high quality cocaine" expensive.
People loooooooooooooooooooveeeeeeeeeee to trot out the "BUT THE BOOZE INDUSTRY DOES IT" argument but often the factors are way more difficult to control (for one, many pricy alcohols come from perennial plants with low yields that sometimes take 17 years to mature), the manufacturing process is longer and quite frankly copying another scene just because is a really bad idea when you're trying to build a culture.
Growing exceptionally good pot is certainly not the easiest exercise but there's way too much autofellatio going on.
Ask him for some cuttings and grow them out. These types of genetics shouldn't disappear with him.

Blegh. It's a good alternative to boxed chocolates if you're younger or the recipient wouldn't like them but the logistics of consuming it are just a MESS. Just gimme a syringe of cheap oil to spike a bowl or joint with if we're going down that route.
