Non-dry herb/oil based vapes, what's the appeal??

I'm in Australia and usually only have access to regular 420 nuggies. I'm sure there are oil-based vapes around Melbourne, but either they arent that common here (don't really see them amongst melbourents much) or I just don't have access to them...

Since they are waaaaay more common in the states, im so curious what the appeal is??

Do they just get you higher?

Honestly my strong preference is for dry-herb vapes, you know what your vaping for the most part and you get FREE EDIBLES... what's not to like? Thoughts pls ty.
