Talking with neighbors was a success!
Post Body

I texted my neighbor because they have an invasive tree growing through their fence into my side and I don't want it dropping seedlings into my side. Plus our other neighbors who share the fence line have a dog and the berries are toxic to dogs. Also I read on our state extension website that they are prohibited to let grow on your property.

I asked if it would be ok to cut the part hanging over to my side. They said the birds keep dropping the seeds in their yard and that's why it keeps growing back. But the tree is like 10 feet tall so I don't think they cared until I said something.

I was outside today trimming my yard (which was when I planned on trimming their tree on my side) and they came out and cut the entire tree down! Yay! Hopefully it doesn't come back. I think letting them know it's invasive helped.
