So here's a real long shot. Anyone know what pine tree this may have come from?

I wasn't able to take a picture of the tree sadly. It was the only conifer around. The bark had more of a grey look to it, if my memory is correct. The pine was really tall but not straight upright. I'm in Southern California and thats where I saw the tree. I know its a long shot but any info might help?
