Hi everyone, the title says it all -- my parents want to visit Ireland in December. We'd be flying from Houston to Frankfurt, spend time in Germany, then off to Dublin from Frankfurt.
None of us have been to Ireland, so I don't really know what to expect especially in the winter. I want to help put together some form of itinerary for them, so I figured I'd reach out to the reddit community.
They love seeing historical things, so guided tours are a plus for them. Markets are things they like as well. They're in their 70s and late 60s, so they might not be able to walk a whole lot...
Do you recommend going in the winter? If so, do you have any recommendations of what to see/do? Will most places be shut down? Is public transportation easy to get around with or do we have to rent a car? Do you recommend a hostel or a hotel?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Much love 🍻
