Firstly, thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions! This is a great subreddit, and it has helped me out more than once in the past :)
Anyhow, I'm finishing up a teaching contract in Indonesia in May, and I have 2-3 weeks to travel wherever before I have to finally return to America. What can/should I see in that time? I'm open to suggestions. I've been up/down/around Indonesia pretty thoroughly, and I'm not particularly interested in Malaysia or Singapore. I enjoy history/culture/art, food, and the outdoors (trekking, rafting, etc.).
I definitely want to see Angkor Wat, and I am considering Wikitravel's "Golden Triangle" itinerary of Thailand/Myanmar/Laos (http://wikitravel.org/en/Five_days_in_the_Golden_Triangle). Could I just expand these trips into 2-3 weeks, do you think?
Any suggestions? Also, put my mind at ease: is the aforementioned Golden Triangle route doable for a first-ish time solo traveler? (While I've lived alone in Indonesia for the past months, I've done most of my traveling with other ex-pat friends, with the exception of a week-long trip to Yogyakarta).
Thanks again. All relevant comments are welcome! :)
