I had my Global Entry interview on 10/29 at SFO. On my application I stated that I had pled no contest to a charge of misdemeanor vandalism in 1986 and had completed community service. The officer said something about an arrest in 1988 but I had no knowledge and affirmed that the 1986 should have been the only thing on my record. At the end of the interview he said it was taking longer than expected to verify my fingerprints (he had to have them scanned a few times) and that I should check back on the website in a day or two. Still no approval as of today. I've heard of people getting the approval right away or within a day or two but for me it's been over a month.
On a side note - back between 2010-2013, on three consecutive trips to Central America/Mexico, I was been pulled aside for additional screening when coming back though US customs. I was taken into another room where I was asked a multitude of questions and then the customs agent would take everything out of my luggage for a hand search. After the third time, I wrote a letter to the Dept of Homeland Security and was given a redress number and haven't had any issues with additional screening since. Not sure if this is connected to my delay with my Global Entry application
Anybody else have experience with this long a delay in a Global Entry application?
