How english proficient and cash reliant is Budapest and Prague?

I am going to be travelling to Budapest and Prague tomorrow and would like to know how proficient is everyone in english in those two countries since english is the only language I know and also how widespread is the use of credit cards? I have a blue Visa Travel Rewards Card from Bank of America and was wondering if that was enough or should I get a good amount of cash for both places. Im mostly going to be visiting tourist sites and museums like the Bath House, House of Terror, and Parliament and stuff in both cities.
