Post Body

Hello. We will be traveling around Europe during July. We are 23 and 22 but will also be with my boyfriend's parents who are 65 and 54. Our itinerary is as follows:

July 4: Fly into Rome and stay there for one night before renting a car and driving to amalfi.

July 5-9: Amalfi. We will probably spend a day on Capri.

July 9: One night in Naples before our flight the next morning.

July 10-13: Mykonos.

July 13-17: Ferry to Santorini.

July 17-18: Athens.

July 18-21: Lisbon (will probably spend a day in Sintra.)

July 21-24: London.

July 24-28: Taking the Eurostar to Paris.

What are some things you recommend doing in each city? We have all already been to Rome and Paris so we will probably skip the main tourist attractions. In general we don't really want to do things that are too touristy. We will probably go to the Acropolis (I have been, they haven't.)

If you have been to Delos do you think of is worth it?

In terms of transportation to and from the airport I was thinking:

  • Rome: Leonardo express to termini station. From there we will take the metro B line to the colosseum (we are staying near there.)

  • amalfi and Naples we are renting a car

  • Mykonos: taxi from the airport and to the port a few days later. Should be about €10

  • Santorini: renting a car

  • Athens: metro.

  • Lisbon: we will be arriving around midnight. Will it be best to take the metro or just get a taxi?

  • London: tube.

  • Paris: metro.

How much money do you recommend I budget? I was thinking €50 a day would be fine (not including any tourist sights we will need to pay for, this only includes food and public transit around the city.) we will also be staying in airbnbs so we will be able to have breakfast there as well as snacks and stuff like that.

This will be my fourth time in Europe, however the other 3 times were cruises or organized tours. So any advice about that would be great. Thanks!
