How many days does it take to "experience" Canada - specifically Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, and Halifax?

Post Body

I'd like to visit one or more of these cities (one at a time; a family member works for an airline so trains and buses would be more expensive). Quebec City is number one on my list because of its unique culture. How many days will I need to spend there so as not to feel rushed? My schedule is rather flexible, but I don't want to spend more time and money than I have to, especially since I hope to travel a lot this summer.

Are the other four cities worth going to, or will the experiences overlap? Would it be a better idea to explore other cities instead? If all the cities are worth going to, how many days should I spend in each city? If it helps, I love history and food. Also, I'd like to visit the major tourist attractions, but I also want to experience the local culture. Thank you!
