25 year old guy from Detroit, USA (I’m a gay man so the stereotype adds context).
After traveling to 30 countries I can confidently say that while I’ve become more worldly I’ve also updated my style throughout the years.
An example would be when I was 18 and I was in Paris I wore all black. I even remember a Parisian at a shop telling me “I see you’re dressing the way you should here”. I was used to dressing quite mature at this age due to me being insecure during high school for being skinny so I wore J. Crew and Banana Republic to make myself look professional (more expensive than an eating disorder I suppose) so dressing up in Paris wasn’t hard.
It wasn’t until I traveled more through Europe and noticed people wearing white sneakers. I never in my childhood wore these until I went to Europe and now adapted them to my wardrobe.
Then when I was in Tokyo in 2019 I saw trench coats and started wearing them.
After being in Buenos Aires last year I noticed oversized t-shirts were a thing and I added these as well.
