I'm planning a first-time trip to Saint Martin in January. We will be there for 10 full days. I've been primarily interested in staying on the French side but interested in seeing both the French and Dutch sides. They seem very different and I believe I would enjoy both sides. I think I would like staying in the northern most part of the island but am a little concerned that it might be difficult to enjoy the nightlife of the Dutch side and drive back to the north after dark. So it occurred to me that maybe it would be worth spending 6 or 7 days on the French side and 3 or 4 days on the Dutch side. Curious about opinions on this plan?
