Hey everyone,
Let's talk about something crucial regarding tourism in Tanzania. While many tourists flock to see the Serengeti and enjoy safari adventures, there's a trend of visiting indigenous communities like the Hadzabe and Maasai, often without considering the impact.
Here's the thing: these communities don't always benefit from your visit. In fact, it's often the tour companies that pocket the profits will convince you as a life changing trip(it's depressing), while the locals receive very little in return. And to make matters worse, visitors often encounter the same individuals repeatedly, while the rest of the community sees little to no benefit.
So, next time you're planning your Tanzanian adventure, save that money for a nice hotel or drink some local beer than going to see the same 10 people. As a Tanzanian I wanted to also appreciate for visiting our country as we really depend on tourism industry.
