About to board my flight in Delhi to go back to the states and there is a second wave of security to get into the plane boarding area--this is after already going through the initial wave of security of taking electronics, metal, chargers, shoes, etc. out of carry-ons. They literally made us do all of that again checking stuff they've already checked, with the exception of whatever you buy in duty free, gift shops, or restaurants.

Has anyone else dealt with this before? Is this a thing elsewhere that I just haven't run into yet?? Seems like a massive waste of time and resources to me but what do I know?

Edit: with all these responses, I'm dumbfounded that I haven't run into it before in the last decade of travelling.
