Have some questions hopefully some NY travelers can help me on. Really trying to nail everything down since it is such a short trip. Nov 9-12

Flying out wife to New York the night of Nov 8. Since I am about a 3 hour drive I’ll be meeting her there.

The plan is to get a hotel around Manhattan near most of the destinations I am planning. Hotel is expensive, yes. Although, we will be near most of the spots we want to go to.

I do not have an itinerary planned but I’m working one with other posts I’m looking at. What I mainly want to see is the Empire State Building, Times Square, Central Park, 9/11 memorial, show at broadway, Chinatown, and the rock observatory.

My questions are,

Will outdoor activities be limited due to the cold?

Should I park at the airport and taxi to the hotel? I do not plan to drive other than driving to NY.

Are Christmas themes up at this point of the year? Wife is big holiday fan.

Any other recs? I’m usually a better planner but due to work I’m trying to book everything before I finish planning.
