Are we expected to do the airlines' jobs for them?
Post Body

In the past when checking in I would simply go to the check in desk and airline staff would deal with it from there. There is a tendency for passengers having to do self service check in where they enter their details on a machine, print out the boarding pass and luggage label and then take the luggage to a bag drop and scan the luggage label. On a recent flight from Reykjavik all but one flight was self service check in. I feel if I have paid money to an airline things like check in should be done by airline staff and I am doing the airlines' jobs for them. Self service check in is something you would expect from a budget airline in return for paying a low fare but not with a premium airline where you pay more. Is self service check in an example where the premium airlines copy the budget airlines where passengers get a budget airline service but don't pay budget airline prices. Do you share my views on self service check in or are you perfectly happy with self service check in.
