Hey everyone, hope all is well on your end.
I’m flying with PAL (Philippine Airlines) rn from Toronto to Manila, and it’s been a mess. Here’s what went down:
- During boarding, it was very disorganized that got us delayed an hour and a half.
- Air conditioning stopped working mid-flight on our section. It got so hot I almost passed out.
- Fortunately, we had a scheduled stop at Vancouver where they refuelled the plane and checked the a/c issue. We landed in Vancouver around 6:30am.
- Crew announced around 11am that they are looking for volunteers to off board the plane as the issue with the a/c is not looking good and passengers would overheat.
- 56 passengers agreed to take the next flight but my family and I stayed as we had an important thing to deal with asap.
As I’m writing this, it’s 12:30pm and we are still in Vancouver. We aren’t sure what’s going to happen. We asked the crew for updates but they didn’t know as well. I tried to reach out to PAL Support but they were busy.
During trip interruption instances like these, do the passengers normally get some sort of compensation? Or is it only just for the volunteers? If you were in this situation, what would you do?
Thanks!
