Help, i cannot stop myself from making things complicated!

Hello. Hope u are having a good day when reading this. I have a problem. I actually have a good musical ear and good note selection but i cannot stop making myself from making the counter melos too complicated. Sometimes they are so good but not suitable for trap. As someone previously said, we are making craft that is incomplete by itself and can only be complete by rapper vocals. a friend of mine just started producing and can make better beats than me simply because he is keeping it simple!
