Hey all, so last year in my school me and a friend started a music production club. At first it was just a couple of us who have been making beats for a few years just sharing stuff and collabing but then in the spring we had a concert in our cafeteria with full songs that we had made (beats made by us and raps done by us/rappers in our school) and then we took off. There was so much buzz about us and next thing you know the schools asking us to dj every event. So my friend graduated last year and now I’ve stepped into the head role and the school has asked our club to dj the homecoming dance. I obviously jumped at the opportunity as we’d get to throw in some of our originals as well as the songs they give us to play, but the issue is I don’t really have good live performance software. My friend whose laptop we used to use for live stuff had ableton which was great for live but now I don’t have that anymore. I use logic as my main DAW but it’s not so great for live performances. What I wanna know is if anyone can recommend me some good cheap software (sub $50 if possible) for live performances that doesn’t take too long to learn, considering I only have like a week and a half before the homecoming dance. I am a very quick learner though, I taught myself as a freshman to use logic and by the beginning of my sophomore year I knew the entirety of the program (I’m a senior now). I need something that is good primarily for playback but that can also support live vocals and effects on a drumpad (such as a tape stop, low pass, drum sounds, etc) as well. If anyone could help, I’d really appreciate it!
