This is merely all observation, not as a negative towards anyone. In fact, it may actually help someone in their training. I'm now consciously paying attention to it for myself, almost to the the point of being OCD about it.
Anyway, I was practicing with my voice one day and noticed something. When I would start going up in pitch (yes, I know it's only one aspect), my speaking tone/note/frequency would go from a normal, on-key variance to a flat, off-key variance. I played with this for several minutes and then watched some videos to investigate my tiny theory.
Sure enough, other Trans women would also sound as though their voice was a half note off when they would speak. Then I would go back to practicing, but would drop down closer to my regular voice, where I have a greater resonance. And I noticed they I went back to being on-key.
Being someone who tends to notice oddities, I got a bit excited about this, because I see it as a another tool in my training toolbox. And like I said above, am now almost OCD about being on- vs off-key when I practice.
Anyone else notice this, or something similar?
