My sessions with my voice therapist feel useless

Hi!

For context I’m a transman, I’ve been on T for 6 years. I don’t like my voice, I feel it’s not as masculine as I’d like.

I’ve had a few sessions with my voice therapist now, but it feels pretty useless.

I first introduced my issue as “I somewhat know how to play with my voice, but I can’t find a way to actually use it when I talk. I always seem to go back to my regular voice”

He told me he saw little to no issue with my voice, even if he understood why I’d feel it’s not masculine enough to my taste.

Then session after session he started pointing out new issues: I apparently can’t control my vocal weight (I practiced that a lot and while I’m nowhere near perfect and can’t actually add it to my speaking voice, I feel I’m fine with it?)

Then he pointed out my vocal fry, that he didn’t point out for 3 sessions.

For now we’re focusing on adding more air, to avoid the vocal fry. (Which wasn’t bothering me to be honest…)

Am I just overreacting because I fear it’s not going to change anything, or is that situation weird?

I just feel like I’m back at the starting point. I’ve been working on my voice for years and the main issue has always been incorporating what I can do with my voice, to my speaking voice.
