I'm trying to translate the naval tactics 同航戦 and 反航戦 without just flat-out describing what they are. I understand what they mean, and they seem common enough but I can't seem to find any English sources that name them.
同航戦 is where two ships line up going the same direction firing broadside on one another, like:
→→→→→
|||||||||||
→→→→→
While 反航戦 is the opposite, where the ships fire broadside as they pass by in opposite directions.
→→→→→
|||||||||||
←←←←←
The only source that I can find that offers an actual translation is Kancolle, which terms them as a Parallel Engagement and a Head-on Engagement. Does anyone know if these are the proper terms for them?
