Why doesn’t Seoul Metro Line 1 have a 2nd eastern branch going completely east?

Post Body

Incheon is huge but Uijeongbu gets the singular branch and the branches not being 1:1 on each side got me thinking. I know the services aren’t all terminating at UIjeongbu but think I’m terms of trains per hour and also service to send instead of turning back, an eastern branch seems great especially with GTX B going that direction. What do you guys think? Does it need it?
