Giving Blood and Donating Organs

The way I see it, donating blood and plasma and other organs and tissues is a really transhumanist thing to do. You gain indirect life extension in a small way by giving a part of yourself and allowing it to live on in someone else. You are, therefore, living on in someone else.

Hmm... You're right. It's not extending you as a whole; but parts of you live on in someone else. It's moreso a silly philosophical thought than anything else, though. It's no more close to immortality than cloning or other forms of physical copies.
