Post Body

Hello my fellow transhumanists. If you're looking to upload your mind, this post is for you.

I am, like all of us, painfully aware that current technology isn't up to speed to mind uploading yet. I am also aware the greater majority of humanity isn't ready to take the next leap forward, and holding beings like us back. We can fight that today. We CAN secure our place in the next phase of humanity and beyond. Right here, right now. Here's my plan:

  1. Download your entire social media history. Posts, images, timelines, everything. Archive it.
  2. Get your genes sequenced. I'm using Nebula Genomics; but there are other services, such as Veritas, Dante Labs, etc... Archive your genome.
  3. Make plans to preserve yourself. Don't get cremated. In fact, I'd suggest cryonics - because, hopefully, you'll be living a healthy enough life to make it long enough to where cryonics is at last viable.
  4. Live a healthy life - everyone is different; do what you need to do to live as long as you can.

The purpose of preserving your social media history is to provide enough raw, natural data for future entities to use to approximate your personality and infer the machinations of your mind. Having a genetic sequence handy would ultimately help physical reconstruction, whether it's minor corrections after preservation to something straight out of Fifth Element. I hope it's the former, unless the transferal problem has been solved otherwise.

Nobody knows, yet, what'll happen in the future. Or how you and I are going to come back. I am hoping this will be enough, though, to aid in our revitalization, and bring us one step closer to our digital infinity.

Haha, love it. Black mirror is a fantastic show.

"Living on" as a copy of who you are today isn't living at all - and I agree, I don't want to go that route either, at least as far as my mind is concerned. My consciousness, for lack of a better term. But we still need to solve the transferal problem - the seemingly paradoxical nature of asking the question, "Am I the original, or is this a copy?"

One day.
