Last night's dream
Post Body

Last night's dream was one of the most beautiful, validating dreams I've ever had.

It started out with me donning some sort of VR headset, seemingly a bit clunkier and more advanced than what we have today. I remember listening to the song "Woody Allen - Airport 89" as the startup sequence began, which, I suppose, takes longer than turning on a screen. The next thing I know, I'm suddenly in the city, very similar to chicago. There were no cars, and the skies were a sunset shade of orange. I understood this as a "new virtual reality." I then began to realize that my mind was, at long last, "uploaded" to this new reality. I began to think that this is my home, and felt so incredibly happy because I belong here now - within the singularity, inside my own reality. It just felt so RIGHT being here, as a post-human. Thankfully it was an incredibly lucid dream, too. It felt so real...

One day, we'll get there. One day, I'll see you, my fellow transhumanists, uploaded alongside me. And I can't wait to see you all there.

I am as well - what you mention is the well-known continuity problem. It's assumed in my dream that it was solved - because the "me" that's typing this message is the same "me" that was in the dream/new reality. But it is one of the most pertinent issues outside of defining and isolating the human conscious experiences... One I've been working to solve, like many of us!
