A bit of background: I'm engaged to a lovely woman from the states. (I'm in Canada) We travel back and forth as much as we can afford, but have to wait on her name change before we can get married and I can start the sponsorship process so she can move here. (Neither of us want her dead name on our marriage licence/new ID)
She recently came out at one of her jobs, and now goes to work with her proper name tag & makeup on~but still gets misgendered by customers. (often they'll call her miss/ma'am until she speaks, then they correct themselves, which is awful) She's wanted to do voice training for years, but she doesn't want to do it one-on-one, or with a group. (online or in person) I suggested an app that helps, because it's private....but she doesn't feel comfortable using it. She wants me to help her, and I'm happy to help where I can, but I don't really know *how* to help.....
I'm cis, but very butch, with a very deep voice~I can alter it somewhat for work....but that's the extent of my experience. I was hoping there was some kind of resource I could use/read/offer cupcakes to, that could help me help the love of my life find a voice range she can be happy with. Any suggestions would be really, really welcome!
