As an avid bookworm and Harry Potter fan, I am torn up over the recent JK Rowling drama

On the one hand, it's upsetting that she's been so relentlessly transphobic. I don't like that my favourite franchise, Harry Potter, and its author are now associated with so much hate and ignorance.
On the other hand, I've built my entire bookish identity around the fact I read her books like 10 years ago, and am terrified of having to read something new since high school :(
