AITA for saying the t slur around my girlfriend?
Post Body

so ive (F28) never said that word to her (MtF29) or anyone before. im NOT homophobic. i always make sure to white knight when someone misgenders my girlfriend (she identifies as a woman even though she was born as a man) and i even correctly gender my trans exes (even though theyre bad people for reasons aside from the gender they identify as.)

heres the thing. my girlfriend is a frequent user of the subreddit transsexual masturbation club. its a place where trans people say transphobic things. sometimes she shows me posts and she also says the t slur. honestly she says it so much that it slipped out.

also, i didnt even call her the word. i was saying that someone said that there were like 5 trans holidays. i listed pride month, transgenders day of visibility, transgendered remembrance day, coming out day, and she chimed in with the fifth, Autistic Acceptance Day. i said "true! you know how those trannies are."

i said sorry right away but now she lightly makes fun of me! is she wrong to make fun of me even though i feel bad? or AITA for saying it and i have to put up with her making fun of me all the time now?

NTA i too know how those trannies are

i will never give up on my one true love, calling myself a transexual

uj/ for complicated emotional reasons, i really like calling myself a transexual, to the point where it feels like my microgender. but i dont get the chance much bc of the fact that its weird and has outdated connotations

i feel like id break up with my gf for saying troon but only bc its goofy and would give me the ick
