I (m18) have always been a fan of transformers in any way shape or form. When I was about 5 I borrow any transformers cartoons from the library and binge them in a single sitting. It’s been years but one memory still sticks out.

There was either an episode or movie where Optimus died, but came back to life. I know he died in G1, but I swear it wasn’t that. My memories are of an anime-like animation, and when he came back he was in a grey/black color pallet with red eyes, possibly evil? I don’t even know, but it was SO. FREAKING. COOL. As a 5 y/o boy… Can anyone help me find the episode/movie and put this memory to rest?

Edit: Not even an hour after posting y’all pointed me the right direction. As soon as I saw Armada it dug up even more old memories. That’s the one!!
