does smoking actually decrease estrogen effectiveness?

So I know about the blood clot risk, which is pretty much a non issue for me, because my blood is unnaturally thin, and it's virtually impossible for my blood to clot, but I've heard rumors that it decreases estrogen effectiveness, but couldn't find any legitimate sources stating its accuracy, so here I am lmao, just trying to figure out if it's worth kicking the habit more or less
