Hey r/trans,
Baby trans / enby (transfem) here. I just agreed to start a HRT regiment after a few visits with different endocrinologists and finding one Iām most comfortable with.
I told her I wanted whatever āfeminizingā benefits I could obtain while avoiding breast development, phallic atrophy and infertility.
We discussed many options including: * Raloxifein SERMs * Bicalutamide * GnRH agonist/antagonist SERM or low-dose estradiol * High-dose bicalutamide SERM * High-dose progestogen (e.g., low-dose cyproterone acetate) androgen receptor antagonist (e.g., bicalutamide or spironolactone * Low-dose oestrogen topical cream
We finally, based on her professional advice, came to the conclusion that those options carried unwanted risks (I.e. blood clots) or unwanted side effects (atrophy, breast development, high risk of infertility).
She recommended I try a transdermal low-dose estradiol patch. She didnāt state the dosage (TBA) but I know the lowest dose is 0.025mg and Iām assuming thatās what weāll go with.
Does anyone have any experience utilizing this as their only HRT regiment, with no other forms of hormone replacement or hormone blockers? (I do take dutasteride and minoxidil to block DHT)
Just want others anecdotal experiences or their best āReddit professionalā opinions on this, bearing in mind all experiences are individual.
Thank you so much!
