Today I was feeling really good about myself so I decided to go out with some friends to the bar. The bartender there asked for my id then proceeded to laugh out loud and handed my id back. Now I’m crying in the bathroom. She was so rude about it like I know my picture on my id looks nothing like me anymore but why did she feel inclined to laugh at me. I can’t wait to change my id from m to f. Sometimes I hate being trans like I’m just trying to be happy.

Edit. Thank you all for standing up for me! the bartender was actually really nice and I’m just insecure and like a few of you mentioned she thought I was using a fake id she did apologize to me before I left (I think my friend had something to do with it) but I’m gonna try not to read into the situation and just carry on with life. I still feel embarrassed and a little offended but at the same time it makes me realize how far I’ve come. So thank you everyone for your kind words!
