So for context , I’m a security guard at six flags so pretty much everybody in the park. Knows me by my preferred name. Which is great, because people here actually respect me unlike my parents. I had an event one day while I was off where you could bring your dog in and there was a puppy costume contest, so my mom and I were bringing my dog in for the day and the people who were checking in the dogs called me by my preferred name and my mom whipped her head around at me and” corrected “ them. Saying “ no no no it’s (deadname) “ she turned to me and went” if you want to go by a different name you can find a different place to live “ I just wish my parents would actually respect me. And love me like they are supposed to.
Edit: thank you guys and gals and non binary pals for your support! For more context i don’t have money to move out at the moment
