Rules and Theme
So what tracks should I be using?
Your mix should have trance tracks as the majority (see below for what this means).
The theme is Best of 2023. Therefore, your tracks must have been released from January 1st, 2023 through December 31st, 2023.
You may mashup tracks with older tracks (beats or acapellas, your choice).
You may use unreleased bootlegs or productions that were from this year. Keep in mind you should have probably have a high-quality version of this bootleg for use; i.e., don’t use a YouTube rip for your mix.
Your mix can be up to 60 minutes in length. That should give you plenty of time for construction of a great set! Feel free to make it shorter if you want, however.
You can use any songs from 2023. You do not have to use songs from our Top 20 list that’ll be released later.
Mix it up in whatever style you want! 50 songs in an hour or 10 songs; your choice!
What does "released in 2023" mean?
The official release date for free or paid tracks must be from this year. A track that was released on a mix compilation in 2023 that won't see a single release until 2024 is eligible for this year's mix, as the mix compilation serves as an official release.
For bootlegs, you should be able to provide proof that the track was first unofficially released or played this year if requested. This could be a non-downloadable Soundcloud link, tracklist proof from 100TL, etc.
What is "majority trance"?
At least (i.e., ">=") 50% of your mix should be classified as trance. 12 songs in your mix? 6 songs should be trance. And so forth.
How are you determining if a song is trance?
At least one of the following places must have some version of trance listed or tagged as the genre or sub-genre for the track:
- Discogs
- Music purchasing site (e.g., Beatport, Juno, Bandcamp)
- Official upload to a music site by the artist or label (e.g, Artist SoundCloud page, Label's YouTube Channel)
In short, if Beatport, Bandcamp, Discogs, and the actual artist don't consider the song trance, it's probably not trance.
Anything New?
No new rules or other changes.
Other Information
I'll upload them anonymously. Keep it HQ (V0 VBR, 256 mp3, AIFF/WAV/FLAC).

On January 11th, 2024, I'll post a page with links to listen and voting.
