Merrell return policy

Hey all. Quick, odd, question. I have a relatively new pair of Merrell trail glove 4s. I emailed Merrell because there's a little hole that rubbed through on the inside of both pairs. They were great and offered to replace them with a new pair but they need me to send a pic of my current pair cut in half. Bummer because otherwise the shoes are fine for yard work or something muddy. Wondering if someone who wears these would have a picture of there's cut or would have gone through this process. Thanks.
